What will Medicare pay for when it comes to non-medical in home help?

I live with my 88 year old Mom. I also try to work full time from home. Now I spend all my time cleaning up after, doing Laundry and cleaning up messes in the kitchen. Now I have become the Caretaker and it's costing me money because I can't focus on work.

Medicare will not supply in home caregivers unless the MD says that they are "MEDICALLY necessary". I am not certain if you have Medicaid. If so, check the rules for your state. If not that then check on your loved one's supplemental insurance.

I think that you may be heading into that tough territory where you must decide whether or not inhome care is doable for you. I am so sorry.
