I have restless legs issues. How do I stop it?

Isthisrealyreal Mar 2022
Mrjw, I would try taking a good electrolyte supplement, we use trace minerals and a magnesium supplement.

My step dad had this and medication never helped, he was to stubborn to try the above, even though I had helped with other issues naturally.

The worse that can happen is you spend 50.00 and waste 6 months. Regardless it will help your overall health.

This question has nothing to do with aging care.

In addition to Alva's good advice -

If you are a pre-menopausal woman then you might want to check your iron levels.

Some people say that soaking in epsom salts helps.

Try cutting back on caffeine.

Yep, Epsom salt works because it is magnesium.

A very common syndrome. Often caused by some medications or some low levels in certain electrolytes this is an issue for PROFESSIONAL, your own DOCTOR. Bobby on our site says we often to tell someone right away to consult a professional for any medical, legal or financial issues; I take that advice to heart. Call your MD on Monday. Likely he/she will start with a blood panel.
Do know that there are many things to try to see if there is relief from them, including amazingly low level low dose anti-depressants. Why they work no one is certain.
You might also research and learn about your issue online. There is a whole ton of information there and you will search under "restless legs" just as you posted here.
Best of luck to you. Call the Doc on Monday. Update if you find out the reason and the cure and you will be helping others.

I personally take magnesium, low dose cymbalta(for depression) but it helps other conditions as well and 300mg gabapentin at night. This has mostly taken care of my rls. I have had 3 very bad episodes in the last 2 months, which I will be discussing with my dr in a cpl of weeks. Hope everyone is doing well…Liz
