How do I get help with mom showering?

Mom is 99, and has short term dementia. She is having problem showering and will not allow family member helping. Can I have someone to come in and do this?

Most if not all Agencies have Personal Care aides that will come and shower someone, get them dressed and if needed will change bedding.
You can schedule someone 2 or 3 days a week.
Some will have "caregivers" that do this others have certified employees (CNA's) Certified Nurse's Aid or Assistant different states have different terms.
Call a few agencies in your area and ask about this service and how much they charge.

Yes you can hire an outside agency to send a CNA to get your mom in the shower, or even just to give a sponge bath. LO's often will cooperate much better with a stranger when it comes time to get a bath or shower, than they will with a family member. And in between her showers you can use the extra large body wipes to clean her off. Good luck.
