How to visit my wife with dementia in a nursing home?

My wife's grandaughter has prevented me from seeing my wife under her "power of Health" How can I get a court order to be able to visit my wife in Stratford, Ontario? When I phone the nursing home they just hang up on me.

My wife's grandaughter was head of heart surgery at St Mary's hospital. I thought that she would make the best choices for my wife never thinking that she would block me from seeing my wife. I just love my wife of 23 years.
My wife and I looked after her daughter for 16 years while she got her Masters Degree in Medicine. The grandaughter stayed at our house often while she was going to school. It was to easy O guess to let someone make decisions for my wife and I certainly regret it now. I have not seen or talked to my wife since September.

There are some Canadians on the forum. Maybe they can chime in with some help.

So the granddaughter is ur wife's and not yours. Why was a granddaughter assigned and not one of your wife's children or you?
To get a court order I would think you need to hire a lawyer. If you can't afford that, maybe Legal Aid.

Tara is my wife's granddaughter. She is a very intelligent lady. My wife's daughter is an alcoholic and suffers from agraphobia and would not be able to handle it. Mona's son is in charge of her finances as Power of Attorney. I guess I was just to lazy to do it or I was not aware of the consequences. I sure am sorry now.

Is there a reason that you were not listed as your wifes Power of Health to begin with? It seems unusual to me for a spouse not to be, unless they're mentally incompetent, or the like. Perhaps there is more to this story than you have shared in your post. Perhaps with more info we could better answer your question.
