Is there a specific dementia evaluation available?

If you suspect dementia, Google “dementia symptoms”. Websites such as Mayo clinic's and the Alzheimer Assn's will give you an idea of what to look for. If you think your mom exhibits some of these symptoms, make an appt. with her PCP. Your mom's PCP can ask some basic questions and perform a rudimentary assessment. If he/she suspect's dementia she (mom) would be referred to a neurologist or maybe a gerontologist to conduct further testing. Her PCP is not trained to diagnose the cause of dementia.
