Do liners help with bowel incontinence much? Worth adding to pull-ups?

Momheal1 Jul 2020
I also use a no rinse called Aloevesta (on amazon as well).
I do use a liner and I also have mom on a cranberry pill a day to help with not getting a UTI.
I wish more than anything I could get a better bowel schedule. If anyone has any tips for a schedule? She doesn’t intake enough fluids on her own so I still use her feeding tube for water and Gatorade flushes only.
Not sure whom your caring for but I also use an external female catheter - it’s called a Purewick and has its own small vacuum and container but it is strictly for urine. Some use it overnights - it’s made by liberator medical and is the only external one I have found I could buy for in home care.

Good evening hope this response finds you and your family well. I put and extra pad in my moms adult pull ups. It helps with not using to many pull ups. You left out however if this is for mom or dad. For dad it’s a great idea. For mom, it’s more of a challenge since this could cause the bowel movements close to her vagina and cause an infection.

I have a waterproof bed liner on my 94 year old Mom's bed just in case she mistakes gas when it's a little mess. I also buy pull-ups for my Mom for the same reason. I used to buy her Depends but now I use Always which she thinks are pretty as they look like real underwear.

I also use a product called Medline Remedy Phytoplex to keep her clean as I do not want her to get a UTI. Phytoplex is a cleanser that requires no rinsing. Amazon sells it for about $6.00 a bottle.

Hope this helps,
Jenna
