What happens if during lockdown your loved one has to be admitted to a hospital and you can't go with them?

I have heard of a news report of an elderly dementia patient getting "lost" in the ER during a crisis situation and dying before being treated and the family was unable to locate her for burial(!)

I am concerned if some type of wearable id (medical alert bracelet?) for my mom (98) would be good to have even though I am sure she will take it off.
