My mother is 92 years old and has severe hearing loss. I can’t find any one with a list of providers. Any suggestions?

She has Medicare/Medicaid insurance.

Some Medicare advantage plans come with hearing coverage, does she have an advantage plan? The local Medicaid off aka social services should have a list of Medicaid providers. The area on aging might have information too.

I have tried the local Medicaid /social services but neither have a list of local providers. She has straight Medicaid and we have been assured by her caseworker that she is eligible for hearing aid benefits after she meets her spin down. I will check on area on aging. Thank you

Many seniors do better with a Personal Sound Amplifier (available for Amazon for $27) than hearing aids. Easier for a senior to turn see/find/keep up with, on/off, adjust volume, and place in the ears.

Thank you. I’ll will check into that.

Medicare does not pay for hearing aides. May pay for exams. Not sure about Medicaid. And if they do, you are going to have to find a provider that excepts Medicaid.

Your Mom should have an insurance card for Medicaid. Call the customer service and ask for who in ur area can provide the service. Before making an appt, confirm they except Medicaid. Sometimes a doctor has dropped out of Medicaid and insurance's records ate not up to date.
