Where do I get help interpreting my mother's long-term care insurance policy?

I have spoken with insurance company but feel that I need to speak with an advisor or attorney?

EXPERT John L. Roberts Sep 2019
An Elder Law Attorney in your mother's state of residence can help you understand the policy, and you'll get other insights on care options and planning.

To get up to speed on the policy terms and features, check the LTC Ins Guide published by the National Association of State Insurance Commissioners:

I’m bumping this up since you’ve had no other responses. Our financial advisor sold us our LTC policy so do you have a financial advisor of your own, or know the one who sold her the LTC policy? They might be able to answer your questions. Do you have specific questions that maybe we could give a layman’s opinion on?

There are attorneys that specialize in elder care issues. Also, those that do exclusively insurance issues.

expect to pay about $150 per hour for a review and consult.

I have a friend who is a financial advisor and she was able to review my parents policy and give me a good summary. She knew more than the agency who sold the policy. The agent was of no help, he's apparently nothing more than a salesman - didn't seem to know much at all!
