I never heard of the stuff, so I just used general cleansing with TP, a wash cloth, followed with a wipe. Usually a wipe that contained a lotion of some sort. Later I use a bowl of warm water with anti-bacterial soap mixed with it for her bathing.
If the person is using the toilet I would opt for one of the Bidet attachments. Much easier to control. And even if the person needs assistance using it anyone standing near can use the controls. (It would just come as a slight surprise to the person sitting) The price on these has come down quite a bit and as I understand are easy to install. If the person is in bed wipes or wash cloths are much easier and less messy.
I didn't even know what they were (I could guess, but I didn't know). And yet again I learn something on AC!
Are you thinking about this idea after a light bulb moment, and not sure if it's okay for older people too? Or did someone suggest it and you have doubts? Just wondering what your situation is.
I'm not sure how impressed my mother would have been if I'd sprung this on her...! 🤔 But then she didn't much care for Senset and wipes, either.
Hospitals in the UK don’t give these bottles to new mothers? They do here in the US. That’s why I know what they are haha! Having used them twice after childbirth, I wouldn’t use one on an elder after a bowl movement. It would just take longer to clean them up! Better to use a moist wipe or a toilet with a bidet or even a sprayer—cloth diaper companies make sprayers that attach to the toilet so you can dispose of poop before the diaper goes in to the wash. You could easily use one to spray a bum. The pereneal bottles really have no power, just my opinion but they wouldn’t be very effective in cleaning a bowel movement quick & effectively.
Bumping you up. I have read of it on the forum but have no personal experience, we were lucky enough to be able to use our hand help shower for the job. And have you looked at bidet attachments or sprayers?
