Is there tax on a medical alert system?

With the medical alert systems is there tax on the service? If there is, can you have a doctor write a Rx for it to waive the tax like they can for stair lifts that are not covered by insurance but the tax can be waived if a doctor orders it?

Tax is charged because a state requires it. As far as I know a doctors order is not needed for any type of alert button. Thats only if you want Medicare or another insurance to pay for it. Don't think either does.

I think the company would be able to answer that question for you.

I would check with all of them to ensure you know services provided and actual monthly bill.
