Bloating and gas?

As a Parkinson's patient do you have bloating and gas at times?

ive had that problem even for myself. long history of it. :(

ive read to lay on your left side. pull/bend legs up a little. I also lay on my back and bend my knees up. not sure if that's possible with parkinsons patient.

I also drink tea. like peppermint, chamomile(relaxes). and ginger tea(yummy). I like the Bigelow and Yogi brands.

I also tried to rub my stomach (in circle motion) in the direction of bowel direction

I know how painful trapped gas is (embarrassed face)

One more thing...always try natural remedies before seeing a doctor unless it's so severe that it is necessary to do so. Prescription medications often come with additional risks of suffering other problems and diseases or death.

Bloating and gas are not restricted to Parkinson's patients. It is caused by poor or insufficient diet. Non GMO organic foods and drinks are your best bet. Review "wheat belly" topics and start researching online the natural ways to prevent gas and bloating. To start, eat ginger, peppermint, cinnamon, pineapple, fennel, flaxseed, potassium-rich foods (bananas, oranges, kiwi, avocados), and cucumbers. Add probiotics, magnesium, and plenty of filtered water to the diet. Remove wheat, carbonated drinks, dairy, fatty foods, artificial sweeteners, fructose and other ingredients ending in "ose" from the diet forever. Cruciferous vegetables, beans, prunes and apples also cause gas and should be removed at least temporarily. After about six months, you can re-introduce one of these foods in the previous sentence. If you remain symptom-free after a month, re-introduce another, etc.

Apparently bloating and gas are very common in Parkinson's Disease. More than half of the folks with PD experience this. It is a topic to discuss with your doctor.
