My Mom has end stage frontal temporal dementia. She is now living with me. Does anyone have experience with Medicare and home health care?

I still work four days a week and need someone while I’m at work. Her neurologist has written scripts for home health and PT and OT. I’ve been told Medicare with cover 35 hrs a week for home care. However people I know said they won’t. Does anyone have experience with this?

Where I live, if ur getting PT and OT thru a homecare service that bills Medicare you can get an aide to help with bathing. Medicare does not cover for homecare otherwise.

DKuser, I am sorry but I don't think Medicare offer home help care for what you need, but will do Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy for a certain schedule of time. medicare.gov/coverage/home-health-services.html  and medicare.gov/what-medicare-covers/home-health-care/home-health-care-what-is-it-what-to-expect.html

Now, you could check with Medicaid [which is different than Medicare] to see what programs are offered in your State and to see if your Mom would qualify for Medicaid.
