Can a POA take your girlfriend of 17.5 years away from the residence you share with her and legally not let you see her?

Yes she has Dementia. She asks about me and she's being lied to by the POA. I have been her life for the past 17.5 years. The POA lives within 12 miles of us and never came to see her mom.I ask for some assistance to help with mom while I worked. She is on medication now and doing better from what I'm told. She has put her in an assisted living facilty. She has never like being alone at night. The other siblings do not agree with the POA or what she is doing.

How is she keeping you from seeing her? Can you talk to her on the phone?

It sounds as though you were not able to provide the full time supervision she needed. You must be glad that she's doing better!

Are you perhaps being asked to stay away until she settles in?

I think a lot depends on how whether common law marriages have any status in your state.

If competent she can make her own choice about where she lives. How advanced is her dementia?

Can you make this clearer? I'd like to understand what you’re asking. Who’s 17 years old or is that your mom lived with you 17 years?
