Is it OK to take L-Tryptophan when I have rapid eye movement sleep disorder (RBD)?

Hi; Is it OK to take L-Tryptophan and melotonin when I have RBD and apnea? Tried it last night and really slept well.

Melatonin is more effective in small doses according to The Sleep Doctor.
Recently I saw him back on Dr Oz and he recommended drinking quava leaf tea before bedtime. I haven’t found it yet but have only looked at the grocery. Sleep is so important. Check his website out. He has a lot of information. You might see what he says about your combo.

Check with your dr - always.

I have some sleep issues, too, but undiagnosed. I take melatonin and my understanding is that it's safe in small doses. How much did you take? I've taken L Tryptophan in the past but found it didn't do much, if anything, for me personally.

Are you seeing a doctor about your sleep issues? Apnea is typically treated with a cpap, isn't it? Do you use a cpap machine for sleeping?

What does your neurologist recommend? Are you taking Klonopin as well?
