My mom is on day 6 with no bowel movement?

Tothill: No my mother is not lactose intolerant. It must be the combination of milk and honey, but it works for her.

Mom's memory care will use a suppository if needed after a number of days

Some folks due to pain meds have this problem

Fortunately mom doesn't have any problems going yet although she is immobile and isn't too fond of the purée

Sorry did not explain myself..she is in a memory care center in stage 7 of Alzheimer’s..she has never went 6 days before..they had given her some milk of magnesia on day 3,4,5 than on day 5 they gave her a enema on day 5..than on day 6 more milk of magnesia..she is also on hospice..the center has tried prune juice extra water....she is eating about 39-40 percent of her meals..so that’s good..or is this the stage of Alzheimer’s doing this..thanks for y’all help.

TerriLK it sounds like your mother could be lactose intolerant for her to react to milk that quickly.

motherof5, when you say "they tried everything", who are they and what did they try?

There are lots of 'home remedies' but without knowing your mother's medical situation, medications and what has been tried, it is hard to help.

I give my mom 1 cup of warm milk with 2 or 3 tbsp of honey. Mix well and drink right down. Relief in 10-15 minutes.
