Where can I find transportation for my father who is a veteran in Galveston County, Texas?

Depends on what the transportation is for. If it's for medical and it's to a VA provider, here I believe they do help. If it's for other purposes or for non-VA medical care, check with your local council on aging. Ours is provided thru our local bus service, which has a bus/van equipped for special needs. An appointment and prior approval is required, I believe.

Jenkins, not to be critical, but I think there's a typo in your post. Your father couldn't be 18. What is his real age? I assume he's a senior, or could qualify for a reduced rate for senior transportation?

As to your question, the VA in our area does provide some type of transportation. Check with your local VA and ask if they have a pickup service. If I recall correctly, the van/bus leaves the VA in the afternoon at a specific time, to allow for returning passengers to their homes, so you have to be aware of this in setting appointments so your father has transportation both to and from his VA appointments.

However, if you're not looking for transportation to a VA facility, check out these other posts:

Senior and/or mobility compromised transit is called paratransit, point to point transit, small bus transit, and other similar names, depending on the transportation facility that provides it.

Some senior centers even provide transportation to medical appointments within a given mile radius.
