Is it common for someone with dementia symptoms to change behavior and moods from day to day?

Yesterday I had a very pleasant visit with my mother in assisted living. Today when I visited she was very unhappy and grouchy most of the time.

So, most of us can change moods day to day, yes?

Things to check for are a UTI, which in elders can cause major behavior changes.

A consult with a geriatric Psychiatrist, if behavior fluctuates a lot might be useful.
