My mother will be paying me for caregiving when she receives her VA pension. Will I have to claim this as income?
I handle all of her financials and planned to write a check from her account each month to myself to keep an accounting trail. Will she have to issued me a 1099?
See a lawyer and draw up a proper contract. You see, a POA cannot write a check to yourself legally. AND there has to be proper payroll records or she will never get Medicaid for a nursing home.
