Do you think it’s immoral to try to shield assets from Medicaid?

I think it is immoral when the kids expect to get the assets and they dump mom in a nursing home without bothering to visit or use some of those assets for her needs. In fact, it's a sin worthy of eternal flames.

I think it is really unfair when someone has the funds for their own care but want to use Medicaid.... which is funded by the State taxpayers, and some Federal Funds.

Usually assets that are hidden have to due with inheritance.   A relative wants their inheritance, so let someone else pay for the care of the patient.
