The nursing home and CS signed the auto loan contract, accepting joint responsibility to pay the loan in full. Now what?

In 5 months it will be paid.  Community spouse (CS) is the registered owner.  We didn't take ownership jointly. Once it's all paid for, do I need to declare this an additional asset to the state?
