I think the nursing home is taking money from my mother's trust. Any legal advice?

They took out a total of $200 and only 3 receipts!

If mom is in advanced dementia, your only option is to pursue Guardian status to take over her finances. That is an expensive process. For no cost at all, you report the crime of missing money to the police department where the nursing home is.

kittycat, you report a suspected theft to the local police. They will handle it from there.

Can I take care of my mothers kitty account or trust account and put into her checking account without being Representative payee

Kittycatzgt, on this forum we are caregivers and cannot give you legal advice, just suggestions.

Ask the nursing home for an itemized list of expenses, it could be that your Mom needed some extra care thus extra cost.
