I am getting rid of my moms in-home caregiver due to dishonesty. How do I handle this?

The person I talk to at the agency is out until tomorrow. The aide is coming today, but I really do not feel good about having her in my home. She works four days a week and I guess I'm afraid of being so short-handed. I WANT TO TELL HER TO NOT COME IN TODAY SHE'S NOT WORKING OUT. She would probably be completely unsurprised as she has refused to do the things she agreed to do and has been dishonest on her timesheet and taken some pills. HELP!!

Call the agency and cancel her. You can make those arrangements with anyone at the agency. I'm sure clients call in all the time with changes to their schedule, you can probably speak to anyone about the issues you're having.

Call the agency and ask for a supervisor, or the owner.

Not doing tasks is one thing. Theft of a controlled substance ( if that's what you mean) is something else all together and should be grounds for her dismissal from the agency.

What does your contract say about stopping services, charges, NOTICE, etc.? Is there anyone else at the agency you can speak with besides the one who is out today?
