Do I have to pay money back to Medicaid or can I use it for final expenses for my mother?

My mother passed away. She only had $2800.00 in her bank account at her passing. My name is on the account also. She was on Medicaid.

If the account is not frozen, you can probably use it or some part of it. You may want to check with the office to be sure, and if you are not entitled to any, it does make sense to use it for final expenses, either funeral or legal if any.
