I jokingly told my Mom that I could trip her. Was it a crime?

I've been taking came of my Mom for 6 years, never harmed her but sometimes teased her about tripping her now all of a sudden my brother thinks threatened her about tripping her, it was on a low level staircase, I said to My Mom, that wouldn't be nice so I held onto her going down the stairs.

life wouldnt be worth living another day without some wry humor imo .

Ladies and Gentlemen, thanks for the feedback, ive been beating myself up for this comment for almost a week. I have to say I would never do it, ive always helped my Mom as well as she helped me. Im using this as a learning experience.

I'm at a loss why anyone would say something like this to anyone. Even if you were joking, it was at best in extremely poor taste and at worst threatening.

Think before you say anything like that again. I wouldn't consider "teasing" on such a subject tolerable or a "joke" under any circumstances.
