Can a child put the parent in a care facility even if the do not have power of attorney?

the man i work for had a stroke. he is mean, nasty,, nice minute and next minute he is calling you names and say your a thief. i am the only who is still here . everyone else quit because they could not stand it anymore. his daughter has showed him the things he ask for , i have showed him stuff he has ask for. still he says it is missing. he threatened to shot me if i did not stop taking his stuff. so his daughter told me to take the bullets out of the guns. his daughter told him if she hears he threatened anyone else she was taking them he told her no she won"t because he shoot her first.she took him to the VA to get checked and so they ask him questions he answered them the way they wanted and said he was in his sound mind. she told them what he had said to me and they told him should not have said or done that and that was not nice. i am now under medication for depression due to all the mental anguish i have endured working for this man. the only reason i am still was for his daughter but i have give my two weeks. if i can stay that long. i am tired of crying and having trouble sleeping and really sick of taking meds because of it. WHAT CAN WE DO?

The only way to place someone in a care facility against their will is to have guardianship. POA is not sufficient.

If the person is willing to go to the care facility, you don't even need a POA to get them there.

I feel sorry for the daughter! But you are doing exactly what you need to do. Quit. Move on to a more pleasant client.

You quit. Walk away. You have done all you could, the rest is up to the daughter. Report your experiences to APS, they will check on him. Thanks for caring.
