Has anyone ever bought a flame retardant mattress or mattress pad for their loved one?

Have you checked with the facility? When my cousin wanted a softer mattress in AL, we asked and they checked in their storage room. I went to their storage room and picked out one that was much better and they switched it out.

Aren't all mattresses and toppers supposed to be fire resistant nowadays?
I have a 2" memory foam mattress topper for my mom at home, but I would caution you to not get one that is any thicker as it makes it more difficult to reposition in bed. You might want to also get a moisture proof mattress pad to cover the whole bed.
