We all believed my Father's retirement was spent down yrs ago to qualify for Medicaid. Now he's entitled to a pension?

Sorry, not Medicare, Social Security.

When I signed up for Medicare, I was sent a letter from them telling me where I had pension. Since I retired at 62, I knew this pension didn't comeibto effect till 65. Check with SS and see if they have any pensions listed. The pension will probably be handed over to Medicaid to offset his care. Like suggested, run it by the Social Service worker at his facility.

Thanks - I do trust the pension location, and they don't seem to be asking for anything but simply wishing to pay his pension. However - I can ask more questions to determine if it is legit. He has been on Medicaid assistance for about 6 years. He is 66 yr old, and the pension plan persons are stating they also wish to backpay since age 65.
My dad is doing quite well at this time, simply needs the assisted living to make sure he is consistent with his meds, meals, and hygiene. We don't want to rock the boat or do anything to make things turn for the worse. Thanks for your ideas about caseworker and the knowledge that Medicaid likely would have found this issue if it was legitimate concern.

First be sure you are not being scammed by a phony pension plan. Then look at his costs including Medical vs what the income will be. His caseworker can sit down with you to do the math.
Medicaid is very thorough about checking what pensions the persons have. If they did not find this pension, I would suspect the call you got is not for real.
