Sleeping at night with dementia. Any advice?

I would like to ask specifically to caregivers who have their loved ones (aging dementia parents) at home if they need to use sedation at night to calm their loved ones. I am not asking for medical advice or subscriptions, but I am curious to know if being in their own home helps the dementia people to sleep better. I notice my mother has real difficulty at night feeling relaxed so sedation is necessary and I wonder if being in her own ome would relieve this anxiety.

The difference I noticed when mom was at home was that her anxiety was manageable. She needed someone there for sure, but she did not need to be medicated. She would get up and look at the moon or watch some TV. Was someone living with you mother at the time she began to get anxiety? Did it seem to subside if someone was at her side?

Thank you Babalou.

So, no, being in her own home did not help with her sleep.

My mother's anxiety (related to her Mild Cognitive Decline) was what landed her in Assisted/Independent Living in the first place.
