Who do you call if you need to find out if your loved one can qualify for Medicaid?
I hear that you have to pay for an assessment. If thats true how much does it cost? I understand medicaid rules vary from state to state but I'm not sure how to begin the process. Thanks
No, there is no fee to apply for Medicaid. Go to your local Medicaid office where you'll be assigned a caseworker. The caseworker will take you through the application process and let you know if your loved one qualifies. Be prepared for a lengthy application process. It took my dad months to be approved for Medicaid and by the time he was approved he had died.
