I would hire an attorney that specializes only in Elder Law. Well, first off you need separate attorneys for each or there is a conflict of interest. That is why, when you petition for Guardian status, the first thing the Judge does is appoint a Guardian Ad Litem. The GAL is the attorney who represents the defendant (parent) during the hearing. Look for a lawyer with Probate experience since Guardianship is probate law.
