She's (91) with dementia and has a skin cancer scab on nose that's getting deeper and deeper. What to do?

Tried socks on the hands but it confuses her.

Try using Neosporin Plus, it is a combination of antibiotic and a numbing agent. Ditch the band aids if you can. Just my opinion.

I am a retired nurse living with her. Hard to cover scab on nose, but thanks for trying

it has already been excised.. it justr wont heal now due to scratching scab off. we keep it moisturized with aloe, alternating with antibiotic cream with lidocaine. small band aids have been tried but they seem to annoy even more. her dr. saw her a month ago and did not have suggestions.

I get it. She picks and you can't stop her. That's a rough one. You could keep her nails cut and the scab covered. If that doesn't work, I would consult a visiting nurse. They have seen it all. Good luck to you.

See the dermatologist if she is not already on Hospice. Hopefully it can be excised with a local anesthetic, depending on it's depth.
