Is there any medication other than Namenda or Aricept to help memory for dementia?

Are there any activities to help my Mom's memory improve? Cognitive impairment of loved one appears to be getting worse on short term memory and ability to read/follow written or verbal directions

First of all, check what meds she is on. Discuss drug interactions with her pharmacist. At the same time, do a pill count. Mom was skipping some meds and double dosing others.
How to do a pill count: If the Rx has 30 pills a month, and a refill is due in ten days, there should be ten pills in the bottle. Betcha there are too many in some and not enough in others. That can cause confusion.
If she uses alcohol regularly, she may have depleted her thiamine (vitamin B1) and that produces alcohol induced dementia.
If her B12 is low, another cause for confusion.
If she has taken cholesterol lowering meds for a long time, another cause. Have a heart to heart chat with her MD. Ours totally cut out the pravastatin, gave her shots of B12 monthly. It's not a cure, but it helps.
