Got a DUI and I'm a caregiver. Do I have to worry about the children getting taking away from me?

Never been in trouble before and am worried that they could come and take them away from me. the children were not with me and were taking care of.

ask for an ignition interlock . indiana is just now getting around to installing these and i can see where they would work . statistics in other states show that they work . i like to have a couple of beers or shots of brandy when im working sometimes . i wouldnt chance it if it might result in me being stranded . id actually like to have one . there are temptations . hot day , successful workday , clouded judgement making you think your just fine , etc .

No, this should have nothing to do with your children since the children were not in the vehicle with you.

Caregiving is a tough journey if you are caring for a loved one, and there are times when caregivers try to deal with the strain of that job through self medication. Just be careful in the future so that your driver's license isn't taken away.

A DUI? Nobody's taking them away, unless they were in the car with you. No county wants to pick up the tab for anybody's kids. Foster care costs them 30K per child, possibly more. They would rather fine the pants off you and tell you not to do it again.

many affluent people screw up and get a dui . thats the downside of booze -- you make bad decisions. i cant imagine any reason why your parenting skills would be in question.
