My Mom tells people horrible lies that could get people in trouble. Any advice?

She told her sister that my grand nephew was kidnapped and sexually abused by his baby sitter. Which is not true. We don't know what to do

Bear in mind she may be confabulating or mixing up nightmares and reality, rather than deliberately lying, but yeah, anything like that gets overhear and it may be reportable and investigated...though if it was, they would hopefully figure out that it never happened just by talking to you and the child and sitter involved.

Sister is not a mdataed reporter though, right? And she's in your corner and knows it most likely didn't happen? I'm guessing it is most likely is not even possible for Mom to have heard or seen anything of that nature, to boot...

Documenting is good.

Make a list of all the lies and then share this with her MD. VERY important you do this, because it will keep APS from hauling YOU away in chains.
