What is a reasonable fee per day to pay a live in caregiver?
Is it a standard practice to also give free room and board to the caregiver?

It is standard practice to not charge a live-in caregiver for room and board.

Look up the new federal laws, "Domestic Workers' Bill of Rights". They get minimum wage, overtime, days off etc. and possibly more depending on your state.
