Have you had trouble getting dementia loved one in the shower?
He becomes very upset and panics when approaching the shower. It was suggested to request a mild sedative from the Dr. then perhaps a sponge bath. Caregiver feels he is taking away dad's rights by sedating him to clean him up. Any thoughts?
I use the body wipes and only work on one small area at a time. You don't need to scrub the whole body in one day. The wipes and shampoo caps can be heated in the microwave and mom really likes the warm touch of them. She can do private areas herself. She can't do her back or lower legs, so that is where I help. She really LOVES the warm shampoo cap with no rinse.
Yes, I can't give mom showers. She's terrified she's going to fall. Even with a gait belt and grab bars all over the place.

Dee even does her hair with a turkish towel around her shoulders and a very wet washcloth and shampoo. Powders her up. Puts lotion all over. And she's so clean she squeaks.
Try the kitchen sink. Less crowded than the bathroom; I think mom feels a little more modest because she's sitting down 99% of the time.
