I'm in NC also, but I'm afraid I'm not the one to help you with advice. My LO was not able to stay in her home as she lived alone and has gone into assisted living.
Would you be using private payment or would your mother need financial assistance? Here's a link that has a lot of information about services for older persons and those with disabilities. Maybe they can help you or refer you to someone who can. Some of the services are not based on financial need or ability to pay.
