A house was left to myself and my sister from our aunt. Will I still be able to keep Medicaid?

I have been on Medicaid for 6 months. My aunt passed away recently and left her house to me and my sister. We both grew up their and still live in that house.
Will I still qualify to keep my Medicaid or do I have to do a quick deed to my sister?

You are allowed to own a house on Medicaid, but doing a quit claim would be a bad idea and would interrupt the Medicaid. Discuss this with your case manager; it's not like you came into any money and you do live in the house.

Medicaid allows the ownership of a house and one car and some other assets under a specified limit. I don't think you will have a problem, but why not discuss it with your case manager? I think you might be in more trouble "gifting" or "selling" your share of the house to your sister. You are allowed to own a house but if you sell it you are expected to do so at a fair market value and to use that money for your own care.
