Does anyone have the magic bullet to get Anthem Blue Cross long term insurance to pay on a timely basis?

They took 9 months to pay the first payment and the first month was not calculated correctly and I can get them to do anything. Now every month I have to jump through hoops to get monthly approved payments. Due to the stress I know have psoriasis! Help!

Nope, go ahead and document and send stuff to the state insurance comissionm or its equivalent, cc'd to your lawyer. It might work...it got Banker's Life to pay up on my mom's policy. They were cruel scammers about it - they would send letters to Mom implying the facility had to send documents and to the facility implying Mom had to send documents, and the forms were extremely complex and detailed...required mailings to at least a couple of different addresses...it was grossly obvious they were trying to make it too difficult for elders and their advocates to ever get a dime. Keep copies of everything you send and note where and when it was sent. Don't let them get away with a darn thing that they are contracted to pay out.

I think that the state where the payments are going is the jurisdiction. So if your mom is in a NH in NYS, you would contact the NY State Insurance Commision and the Attorney General. Google (your state name) and insurance commision and attorney General. Even without outside assistance, this would take time to straighten out. Is the NH or facility being patient about getting paid? Do not accede to any demands that you pay them upfront, that will only complicate matters, I would think.

I have been told that getting hold of the State really didn't do any good and the worst part of it is it takes a lot of time to get through their process and if lucky Anthem might get a slap on the wrist. Also, his policy was purchased in California and my brother has always lived in California but I am dealing with the Florida office. What State would I file with?

Your friendly local State Insurance Board would be glad to hear from you.
