What kinds of homecare are covered by Medicare?

For someone who finds it difficult to stand in one place for any length of time, doing dishes, meal preparation, and hair washing are on the list.

Medicare will only provide services like that for 60 days after hospitalization, for the purpose of rehabilitating the patient with PT/OT/RN services. They also provide Hospice services. If this does not apply for your patient, you are left with finding an in-home care service that you pay for or moving the patient to an Assisted Living facility. IF this is a VET, the VA has "Aid & Attendance" financial aid may help. Note: Medicaid has different rules than Medicare.
