My daughter says she has a POA over my wife, but I've never seen it. How can I find out?

jeannegibbs Feb 2014
In some states the POA document must be registered. Even if registration is not required, disclosure of the POA document is needed in order to act on it. For example, I had to fax the document to insurance companies, creditors, and others in order for them to deal with me as my husband's representative.

If your daughter expects you to honor her POA status she has to show you the signed and notarized document, just as she would have to show an insurance company.

No document, no authority.

If you don't see it, it does not exist. Be the doubting Thomas.
