Must you pay back your Medicaid benefits?

If you combine Medicaid and Obamacare then, after several years, fail to qualify for Medicaid.

Are you asking about MERP? (The Medicaid Estate Recovery Plan)

I don't quite understand what the question is? Under the ACA states could opt into expanded Medicaid coverage...some did, some didn't. Medicaid is free. If you have Medicaid you shouldn't need to be buying further coverage thru some exchange under other parts of ACA. If you are on Medicaid this not something you have to pay back. (In my state they don't even try to recover money when there was fraud involved in getting the benefits.) If you are talking about repaying Medicaid for long term care like being in a nursing home and you have some type of exempt asset like a house, can they state expect repayment after you die? The detailed answer to this is with your Medicaid caseworker.

I would imagine that if you are getting a lower premium now for ACA because you also are on Medicaid, then once your income changes and you get off Medicaid, then your ACA premium will reset to what everybody else in your same category will have to pay in your state.

The Affordable Care Act is for health insurance for those under 65. Somewhat like what Medicare is - which is health insurance for those over 65.

Medicaid is like what DebraLee said it is a separate program that covers some health & preventive care costs for those who are low income.

ACA rates or premiums can be lower for those who are currently on Medicaid for those states who are participating in ACA Medicaid program. Many states are NOT doing this (LA, MS, most other southern states).

???? Medicaid is medical insurance for the poor low income. Obamacare/Affordable Care Act is for those who have no medical insurance or medically underinsured. Confused by your question.
