As POA for mom, when her money runs out paying for her care in nursing home will I be liable for her care?
My mom is in a nursing home, I am POA. I sold her home and the proceeds from that pays for her care. When the money is depleted will I be liable to pay for her care?
No. But if it looks like she will run out of money some day, start checking into Medicaid. And keep all receipts for everything you are paying for her care because they have a 5 year look-back period on finances. Good luck!!
