My brother is dying of in stage liver disease. He is starting to need someone to care for him all the time. Is there any financial assistance for this?

Hi Ed: it looks like your brother is not on Medicare...correct? Is he on state disability, assistance, etc? Is or was he a veteran?
A good place to start is your state's office on aging. Call them and you will get a lot of telephone numbers, but it will give you a good idea about which programs are available in your area.
If he is a veteran, there are funds available based on income and need. If he is a vet, I can share more with you about the VA.
Most folks on this site are caring for someone who is on Medicare/Medicaid. Even so, there is not much in the way of in-home help.
Most of us do a combination of gov. assisted and paid caregiving. Around here it costs $12 to 19/hr. for a paid caregiver. You can either hire through an agency (I would recommend this if you are just starting out) or privately.
If your brother's condition is severe and he needs more medical help, he may need the services of a nursing home.
Please give us more information.
