jeannie , if your mom could afford to pay you then ure lucky , my dad wanted me to quit my job to care for him cuz he doesnt want to be in a nursing home , he and i agree that i would stay home with him and he pays all my bills cuz i have no income . so far it s workin out great , he lives with me . if u have no siblings then u shouldnt worry . i hope u are the poa and have the checks into ur name with a poa on the end of ur name . talk to ur mom and maybe u should go to elders lawyer and go from there . govermen will not pay us to care for our elders and that sucks . they rather pay the nursing home tons of money than us to go with the cheaper way . i wish you luck xoxo
I don't want my mom in a nursing home under no circumstances until absolutely under a docor's orders. I am unemployed and want to take care of her... I am her primary care giver, i have no brothers or sisters, so there's no legal difficulties. Why is there not a program to help people like me?
