Wasn't there a plan to change Medicare benefits to assist the elderly with paying for services instead of paying for them to stay in a nursing home?

Each state is a bit different, even with federal programs. And many of these changes, unfortunately, won't take effect for awhile. You should check with Medicare at www.medicare.gov (be sure it's .gov and not another site). You can find out about changes on the site.

I hope this moves forward everywhere. It's very important.
