How can I get assistance to care for her if we don't have the financial capabilites?

Please go to your State Web site and type "aging" in the search box. You will be lead to resources. Every state is different. She may qualify for Medicaid, which can help some. Our system is not set up well to give help at home without financial resources. But some states are better than others.

Also, while on the site, go to their version of the National Family Caregiver Support Program. They may be able to direct you to services.
