My friend is 42 and she suffered a massive stroke 3 months ago. She needs help with personal needs but cannot qualify for home health. What should she do?

G - She should qualify for some sort of physical or occupational rehab therapy to help her remain in her home - unless she's gone through that already. Does she have insurance coverage through her employer? The state? She might qualify for medicare at this point if she's deemed disabled. They should provide some therapy to help her be home alone. You might also seek medicaide assistance or check out programs with the state dept of health and welfare.

Your local Area Agency on Aging might be able to help you understand the possibilities for disabled individuals.
Best of luck to both of you.
