What type of medical coverage (Medicare, Medicaid) do assisted living facilities accept?

In my experience medicare will not pay for assisted living unless it's required for a short term to rehab someone to return to their own home. Some assisted living facilities DO accept medicaide or state assistance but they will make the resident share a room. To find out, ask for the business office or the "admissions" representative.
